HateLab is a research initiative based at Cardiff University, leveraging data science methods and ethical AI to monitor and analyze hate speech and related crime, both online and offline. It develops a dashboard, used by policing, government, and civil society organizations, to track aggregate trends of online hate, inform policy, and facilitate responses to mitigate online harms. Its spin-out, Nisien.AI, further develops AI algorithms for real-time detection and response to online harms.
